Convert Markdown to HTML
Markdown to HTML converter turns pasted Markdown into the equivalent HTML using the marked parser. Headings become h1 through h6, lists become ul with li items, fenced code becomes a pre block with a language class when you name one, and GitHub-flavored tables, task lists and strikethrough render to their HTML forms. Developers use it to build markup for emails, import notes into a CMS, or embed rendered docs, and raw HTML inside the Markdown passes through unchanged.
How to use Markdown to HTML
- Open Markdown to HTML in the Toolbox101 app.
- Paste or type Markdown into the
Markdownbox. The generated HTML updates as you type. - Read the markup in the
Outputbox: tags for headings, lists, emphasis, links, code and tables, ready to use elsewhere. - Click
Copyto put the full HTML on your clipboard, then paste it into a file, email or content system.

Frequently asked questions
Which Markdown features does it support?
The parser runs with GitHub-Flavored Markdown enabled, so pipe tables, task lists, strikethrough and autolinks become their HTML forms instead of staying plain text. Standard constructs such as headings, emphasis, blockquotes, links and fenced code blocks are supported as well, and fenced code keeps a language class when you name one.
Does it add syntax highlighting to code blocks?
No highlighting library is loaded, so code blocks come out as plain pre and code tags without colors. A fence that names a language produces a code element with a language class, which a highlighter on your own page can pick up later. This keeps the output self-contained and easy to restyle.
What happens if my Markdown contains raw HTML?
Raw HTML in the source passes through to the output unchanged: a div or img in your Markdown appears as that tag in the generated HTML. The converter does not escape or sanitize it, so only paste markup you are happy to emit, and escape anything you actually want to show as text.
How is this different from the Markdown Preview tool?
Both tools run the same parser, but they hand you different results. Markdown Preview renders the HTML visually as a formatted document you read on screen. Markdown to HTML writes the raw tag markup into the Output box as text, so you can copy the exact HTML into a file, email or CMS.
