Decode Morse code back to text
Morse code decoder turns dots, dashes and word separators back into readable lowercase text. Transcribe a signal by ear and check it here, solve Morse puzzles from CTF challenges, or verify a callsign you copied over the air. Letters are separated by spaces, / marks a word break, and digits and common punctuation are in the table. The decoder also accepts · for a dot and – or − for a dash. A group the table does not know is reported by name instead of being passed through.

Frequently asked questions
Why is the decoded text all lowercase?
The Morse table maps every signal to a lowercase letter, so .... . .-.. .-.. --- decodes to hello, not Hello. Morse itself carries no case information, so nothing is lost in the decode; if you need capitals, convert the case afterwards with a text tool.
What separator does the decoder expect between letters?
A space. Each space-separated group is looked up in the Morse table, so .... .. reads as hi, and a / group becomes a space between words. A group the table does not contain, such as a mistyped ..-.--, is reported in the Output box as not a Morse sequence.
Does the decoder handle numbers and punctuation too?
Yes. Digits 0–9 and common punctuation each have a Morse code, so ----- .---- .---- decodes to 011 and -.-.-- to !.
