Convert binary to decimal
Binary to decimal converter reads a base-2 number and prints its base-10 value. Developers paste register dumps and flag values from embedded logs and check subnet and permission masks, while students verify bit-math homework against it. A 0b prefix, spaces and underscores (1111 0000, 1111_0000) are fine, a leading minus sign is kept, and results are exact at any length because the conversion uses big integers instead of 53-bit numbers. Paste one number per line to convert a whole column at once.
How to use Binary to Decimal
- Open Binary to Decimal in the Toolbox101 app.
- Type or paste a binary number such as
10110110into theBinary numberbox, or several, one per line. - Read the decimal result in the
Outputbox; it updates as you type. - Click
Copyto put the value on your clipboard and paste it into your notes, script or config.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need to remove a 0b prefix first?
No. 0b1010 and 1010 both give 10, and spaces or underscores between groups of bits are ignored. A digit other than 0 or 1 is reported by name instead of being skipped.
Can it handle a 64-bit or longer binary string?
Yes. The conversion uses big integers, so a string of 64 ones gives 18446744073709551615 exactly, where a tool built on JavaScript numbers would round it. There is no length limit short of what the page can hold.
How can I verify a binary to decimal result by hand?
Add powers of two from the leftmost 1. In 10110110 the set bits sit at 128, 32, 16, 4 and 2, and those sum to 182. Or paste 182 into the Decimal to Binary tool and check that it prints 10110110 back.
Binary to decimal or binary to text: which do I need?
They answer different questions. Binary to decimal treats the whole string as one number and prints an integer. Binary Decode splits the input into 8-bit groups and prints the character for each, so 01101000 becomes the letter h. If your bits are 8-bit characters rather than one number, you want the text decoder.
